About the Store
The Teacher Reuse Store is the collaboration of The Place of Forsyth, Sawnee Woman's Club and Reaping Nature Educational Outreach Foundation, three non-profits serving Forsyth County.  Through this program, we are keeping school supplies and related items out of our landfill and putting them in the hands of Forsyth County's teachers.

The Teacher Reuse Store will be open on July 13 and again in January (date and time to be announced).  If a teacher needs supplies at a non-designated date and time, please call Melina Holt, Naomi Byrnes or Joni Smith at The Place of Forsyth (770) 887-1098, and they will work to accommodate the request.

Teacher Information
All public, private and homeschool teachers in Forsyth County are welcome to come "shop" on Teacher Appreciation Day in the The Place of Forsyth's Thrift Store and Teacher Reuse Store on July 13. Teachers
will be able to shop at discounted prices for items in the Thrift Store and select FREE items from the Teacher Reuse Store.

All teachers MUST provide official documentation to verify teaching status - a school district photo I.D., a letter on school letterhead signed by the principal and/or letter of intent to homeschool will be accepted for entry. Only teachers will be admitted into the store - no helpers please.

It is requested that children not accompany teachers when they shop.

NOTE: For your shopping pleasure and safety leave your bags, suitcases, wagons, and carts at home! The only bags allowed in the store will be provided to you. We ask that they be returned once the items have been placed in your vehicle.

Classroom Clean Out Collection & Bins
Another unique part of this collaboration is the collection of items cleaned out of classrooms by teachers at the end of the school year.  Sanitation Solutions a local residential waste management company in Forsyth County has generously offered to loan 95-gallon rollout containers to collect items.

The bins will be delivered to requesting schools, up to two bins per school, the week of May 20, 2019.  The Place of Forsyth will deliver bins and then pick up bins the week of June 10, 2019.  The bins will be clearly marked for the collection of classroom items.  It is requested that the bins remain indoors from the date dropped off until the date collected.

If your school would like bins to collect classroom clean out items, please email Denise Carleton at info@reapingnature.org or call (770) 490-1083 no later than May 13, 2019.

Dates to Remember:
May 13, 2019 - Request bins for your school
May 20, 2019 - Bins delivered
June 10, 2019 - Bins picked up
July 13, 2019 - Teacher Appreciation Day

Community Donations
The goal of the Teacher Reuse Store is to provide usable materials to teachers for no cost and reduce the amount of waste disposed in our local landfill. Please take the time and examine what your school, business or industry no longer needs, and you might discover that your trash is a teacher's treasure!

Donations are welcome and will be accepted year-round by The Place of Forsyth. Please contact Melina Holt, Naomi Byrnes or Joni Smith at The Place of Forsyth (770) 887-1098 - if the donation is large and requires pickup.  Otherwise, drop off donations at The Place of Forsyth, 2550 The Place Circle, Cumming, clearly marked for the Teacher Reuse Store.
